On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German-Italian Chamber of Commerce promotes economic relations between Germany and Italy and represents German business in Italy. Founded in 1921, AHK Italy brings together large, small and medium-sized enterprises, branches of multinational corporations as well as individual entrepreneurs and freelancers.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German-Italian Chamber of Commerce promotes economic relations between Germany and Italy and represents German business in Italy. Founded in 1921, AHK Italy brings together large, small and medium-sized enterprises, branches of multinational corporations as well as individual entrepreneurs and freelancers.
AHK Italy is headquartered in Milan and is the largest Chamber of Commerce Abroad and the largest bilateral institution in Italy with nearly 700 members, 40 employees and 10 local representative offices.
AHK Italy is responsible for the following tasks:
- Official representation of the German economy in Italy
- Member organization
- Support of companies in their internationalization
- Promotion of dual education according to the German model
As a subsidiary of AHK Italy, the service company DEinternational Italia Srl offers a wide-ranging consulting and service portfolio and thus supports both German and Italian companies in their internationalization process. It offers 360-degree solutions for market development, development and consolidation. In doing so, DEinternational purposefully meets the strategic needs of its clients, while also accommodating the financial resources of small and medium-sized enterprises.
In 2015, the vocational training company Dual.Concept was also founded to develop dual training based on the German model in Italy.

Quick Survey Coronavirus - The impact on the German-Italian business community - update June 2020The survey was conducted in March, April and June 2020 among AHK Italy member companies based in Italy, without taking into account company size. In June, there is a decrease in the impact of the pandemic on the respondents' activities. The study thus highlights the mitigation of the impact of the Corona crisis, given the end of the lockdown of the and the measures introduced by the government to promote a progressive economic recovery. Particular attention is paid to the new revenue forecasts for 2020 and the timeframe for the return to normal business activity.

For Germany we remain the fifth largest trading partner with an important partnership with the northern regions and Lazio. The German states of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia are Italy's third largest trading partners, ahead of the USA.
