Kerkhoff Consulting is once again Top Consultant – the third consultant award in 2024
Weimar, 28 June 2024 It is with great pleasure and pride that we at Team Kerkhoff Consulting announce that we have once again been named Top Consultant in Weimar. "The customer feedback on the award confirms the tireless commitment to excellence in the consulting niche of purchasing and supply chain management. Calculable added value for our customers has been our driving force for many years." summarizes Managing Director Gerd Kerkhoff. The Top Consultant award is based on anonymized customer evaluations and expresses the particularly suitable fit for German SMEs. "This time there were 26 cross-industry customers who we would like to thank for their feedback. It is not a matter of course to take the time for such customer surveys in day-to-day business. For us, this is an objective reflection of our own performance. The award emphasizes that our tailor-made consulting work is also perceived as added value for the customer and successfully supports our customers' business objectives." explains Managing Director Dr. Thorsten Schmidt. "Only consultants who receive excellent ratings from their clients have a chance of being awarded the Top Consultant seal," says Professor Dr. Dietmar Fink, Prof. for Management Consulting at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences on the occasion of the award ceremony. The rating is based on an evaluation of the customers' perceived "professionalism" and "satisfaction" with the consulting services. Every year, manager magazin publishes the consulting firms that were able to provide a customer-oriented, SME-oriented consulting service in a customer survey. Kerkhoff Consulting has made a name for itself with the 12th consecutive award for innovative approaches and practical consulting solutions. "The award is proof of the tireless work and commitment of our entire team of consultants. The repeated recognition as a Top Consultant and the two further quality seals in 2024 confirm the continuity and aspirations of the entire team." emphasizes Dr. Ralph Kudla.

Difference Between CNC Turning and Milling
Despite the misconception that CNC turning is a recent innovation, it is, in fact, rooted in one of the oldest and simplest methods of part fabrication – the use of lathes. These machines come in horizontal or vertical configurations, chosen based on the workpiece’s weight, tolerance, and the raw materials used, which are typically round but can also be square or hexagonal in shape. The primary function of a full CNC machine or turning center is to rotate or “turn” the workpiece, while its tools move in to remove excess material, shaping it as required. The initial step involves securing the material with a device known as a “chuck,” which then rotates at various speeds as specified by the machine. In the past, lathes were operated manually, utilizing a series of turn wheels to move the chuck and workpiece back and forth for cutting. However, with modern advancements, CNC turning machines are now using computer numerical control, eliminating the need for constant manual supervision. CNC turning is particularly well-suited for creating cylindrical parts, such as custom hollow tubing and shafts. Although it is possible to manufacture these components using 5-axis machining, opting for the turning method proves to be much more cost-effective and efficient. More..
