On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action (BMWK), 3 exciting purchasing initiatives will be offered again in 2024. As part of the market development program, the Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics (BME) is once again providing effective access for buyers to important growth and sourcing markets in order to offer German buyers new options for their supply chain.
The event overview is now available at www.bmematchmaking.com
"Challenges in purchasing are currently high. Price pressure, competitiveness, risk distribution or shortening the supply chain - questions and requests for help that we have been receiving from buyers continue to be diverse," says Olaf Holzgrefe, Head of BME International. "With purchasing initiatives in cooperation with more than 10 German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), we as BME support our buyers in solving problems." With the 10th edition of the Western Balkans Purchasing Initiative and the 3rd initiative for Southeast Asia, two established B2B matchmaking events with a history of success are already on the agenda. The 1st Purchasing Initiative India, on the other hand, will be new in 2024.
With India and ASEAN in particular, purchasing initiatives reflect the growth of markets that are currently in demand when it comes to diversification and de-risking. In the first two initiatives in Southeast Asia alone, we organised well over 500 B2B for our buyers," says Lisa Immensack, Project Manager of the purchasing initiatives. "And the Western Balkans Initiative 2023 has led to success for all of the 27 German participating companies in their search." Over 500 German companies have already taken part in various purchasing initiatives since 2015 and over 5000 meetings have been organized. "Buyers consistently reward us top marks when it comes to valuing their challenges," continues Lisa Immensack.
With the 1st Purchasing Initiative India, BME is now adding another growing market to its program in 2024. Moreover, the 3rd ASEAN Purchasing Initiative will also be expanded in 2024. In addition to Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, the Philippines and Indonesia will also be included in the event. "This will cover the entire ASEAN region and offer more options for goods, suppliers and opportunities." Both initiatives will be offered as digital formats. No travelling, high efficiency, and a large number of potential suppliers at no cost for German companies.
The 10th Western Balkans Purchasing Initiative will also be a highlight in 2024. Over the past nine years, purchasing initiative has opened the doors to the potential in this region of Europe in the field of production materials for German companies like no other event. 9 events, over 4000 B2B meetings and a now vibrant network of BME, AHKs and companies make this initiative a Best Practice in the matchmaking calendar. "We are proud and happy to have the round anniversary of the event 2024 take place on the 11th and 12th of June in Munich, the location where the first event was held in 2015," says Olaf Holzgrefe.
Registration for the events is now open at www.bmematchmaking.com.
Participation in the search process and registration is free of charge for suppliers and buyers. Only for taking part in the B2B event in Munich a small contribution will be charged in accordance with the German government's funding guidelines. India and Southeast Asia, on the other hand, are completely free of charge.
