Enormous Indian supplier landscape is not an unknown to many global players. Geographically large and structurally very fragmented market can be confusing, but with no doubt offers many undiscovered opportunities. This B2B matchmaking event thus offers an attractive opportunity to find second-source suppliers and alternatives in times of supply bottlenecks and can also be a great de-risking alternative to China in terms of potential capacities.
In cooperation with Indian Chamber of Commerce Abroad (AHK India), Chambers of Industry and Commerce in Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Nuremberg (IHKs), East Asian Association (OAV) and on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action (BMWK), BME is organizing for Purchasing Initiative India for the first time this year. This is a project-related funding measure as part of the market development program for SMEs so the event is free of charge for all companies.
From 8 to 26 of July 2024, German buyers will have a possibility to get to know Indian suppliers in pre-scheduled online B2B meetings. "As an emerging procurement market, India offers unique opportunities and is a very attractive region for alternative and second-source suppliers in times of supply shortages," says Lisa Immensack, Senior Project Manager at BME. Together with the AHK partners in India and OAV, BME will identify suitable suppliers in the market and prepare them for the event during supplier seminars. In two online webinars, suppliers will find out more about the matchmaking process and receive some insights from German buyers about their specific procurement needs as well as their requirements and processes of German SMEs.
The initiative concentrates on the following product groups: metal construction, cast and forged parts, stamped and bent parts, injection molding, plastic and electronic components, welded assemblies, assembly, production materials, drawing parts, as well as IT or engineering. The demand-oriented focus on selected product groups leads to qualified and efficient access to the local supplier market for German SMEs.
German companies can report their requirements to BME on the www.bmematchmaking.com platform until 17 May 2024. The first suppliers from India have already registered. Participation in the event is free of charge for German purchasing companies and offers SMEs a comprehensive market overview of India as a procurement region.
