A recent survey carried out by the buyers' association on the Ukraine war revealed that while a possible energy freeze would pose a major threat to the German economy, it could be an opportunity to use more sustainable energy in the long term.
The war in Ukraine is hitting the German economy hard. "There is almost no company that is not affected by it," said Gundula Ullah, Chairwoman of the Board of the German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BME), on Tuesday in Eschborn at the presentation of the BME survey "Purchasing in the 'NOW' - Crisis Manager, Supply Shaper, Future Maker".
"According to the current results, 98 per cent of surveyed companies expect negative economic effects on their business. More than a quarter of them see even their own development as critical.
