B2B scouting for buyers: Southeast Asia and Europe still firmly in view
Supply chain diversification continues to occupy our buyers. High energy prices in Germany, political developments in the world and the transformation of the economy - purchasing is in demand. Access to new or alternative suppliers remains important. "We continue to expand access to alternatives in the supply chain," says Lisa Immensack, project manager of the currently running purchasing initiative South East Asia.
The second edition of the Southeast Asia Purchasing Initiative, in cooperation with German Chambers of Commerce Abroad in Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand as well as Laos and Cambodia, has officially started on the 8th of May. Approximately 30 German companies are taking part in this B2B matchmaking event, which will last for about two weeks. "In the end, we will have held well over 300 B2B meetings,” Lisa Immensack continues. However, BME has its sights set on other markets too.
Targeted search for suppliers based on very specific requirements of buyers, strong partners and a B2B platform www.bmematchmaking.com that links buyers’ needs, competences of suppliers and networks of BME partners are just some of the activities we have undertaken. "The topic Local4Local is important and needs an efficient approach," says Olaf Holzgrefe, Head of International at BME.
What else is in store for B2B matchmaking in 2023?
In May, BME will highlight not only Southeast Asia but also the Baltic States. B2B Matchmaking in Serbia, Hungary and the Czech Republic will follow in June. Sourcing Day Pilsen, in cooperation with the Czech business development agency CzechTrade, is heading into its 9th edition.
B2B events in Italy, Portugal and Turkey offering further sourcing potential are scheduled for autumn 2023.
The highlights in October and November - Western Balkans and CEE!
The two B2B flagships - Purchasing Initiative Western Balkans (12 October, Cologne) and 9th CEE Procurement & Supply Forum (15 November, Krakow) - are the two biggest B2B events in autumn. If you register now as a buyer at www.bmematchmaking.com, your procurement requirements will be taken into consideration in the supplier search right from the start. Production materials or drawing parts, castings or plastics - the focus is on your needs. And the Western Balkans have still a lot to offer!
CEE Procurement & Supply Forum is another event to look forward to. For the first time in Krakow and with a great opening event in the Vodka Museum, BME plans to further expand the CEE Forum. Together with the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations we want to and build a bridge and provide access to Ukraine. B2B matchmaking, however, remains the core of the event. More than 60 suppliers from over 14 Eastern European countries took part in the event last year. And if that is not enough, you will also have an opportunity to meet exciting European start-ups, just like in 2022.
